Featuring Keynote Speaker: Cindy L. Munro, PhD, RN, ANP-BC, FAAN, FAANP, FAAAS
Dr. Munro is Dean at the University of Miami School of Nursing and Health Studies. She earned a PhD in Nursing and Microbiology and Immunology at Virginia Commonwealth University, and is a nurse practitioner.
Her research focuses on preventing complications in critically ill adults. She has been supported by research funding of more than $18 million. Her study of oral care int he ICU changed national practice guidelines, and an NIH study to prevent ICU delirium is ongoing. Dr. Munro has published more than 200 articles.
Dr. Munro is co-editor-in-chief of the American Journal of Critical Care. She is a Fellow in the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, and the American Academy of Nursing, serving on the Academy’s Acute and Critical Care Expert Panel. She is a member of the National Academy of Inventors.
She was a founding Ambassador of the Friends of the National Institute of Nursing Research and is on the Board of Directors. She was a Distinguished Research Lecturer of the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses, a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Research Hall of Fame, and an American Academy of Nursing Academy Edge Runner.
The Call for abstract and manuscript submissions is now OPEN (see attached directions).
We invite you to submit an abstract for poster or podium presentation. Awards will be presented for "Outstanding Poster and Podium Presentation."
Also, we invite you to submit manuscripts of EBP projects or research studies accepted for publication or published in 2020 for consideration of the "Outstanding Published Manuscript" award.
This is a great opportunity to share how you are contributing to the science of nursing with colleagues and students.
